April 14 is the day where Banding together will kick off. Bellamy, Dupont, Comp, and High bands will be a part of this big event.
The Bellamy Band is working hard to sound awesome for this concert. They have already gotten three of their songs to play. These songs won’t be revealed until the concert day.
As I’m in band, I can take you backstage for the process. Right now we are getting better with tone and rhythm.
More information will come in soon, but save the date. You won’t want to miss it! This musical event will be held in the Bellamy auditorium with all the four schools.
See you there!

Students sing their heart out at Bellamy Idol Auditions

Sweaty palms, quick breaths and quiet discussions filled the room as the judges were shuffling papers and pulling up chairs. The first contestant stepped up to the front of the room, being cued by the wave of a hand.
A girl walked forward, tugging at a rubber band around her wrist nervously. She blew a strand of hair from her eyes, and said what was necessary; her name, grade and what song she was singing.
She took a deep breath, and started singing. Her voice cracked, but as the five minutes came to an end, her voice gained volume and confidence.

Mrs. Torres along with Ms. Lohan both wrote down things quickly on a paper under their hands.
Some participants bounced away, practically glowing.
We all know someone who auditioned for Bellamy Idol this year, or maybe next year, right?
Sadly, only a certain number of students get picked to advance to the next round. If they don’t, they have a shot if they audition again next year.
This can be upsetting for a student who auditioned, but at least they had the courage to get up and sing in front of so many others, and be judged for it. That alone is on par with the same satisfaction as advancing to the next round.
First round auditions are finishing up this week as those selected move on to the next round to end with 5 contestants.Good luck to all the students chosen!
